In the latest Bedrock Edition update (26.10.21), the bee entity’s collision box has not been synchronized with Java Edition, unlike other mobs such as mooshrooms. The bee continues to use the older, smaller collision box dimensions, while all other mobs have been updated to match Java Edition’s collision boxes. This appears to be an oversight in the update.
How to Reproduce:
Navigate to the behavior pack folder
behavior_pack\entities.jsonand openbee.json.Search for
"minecraft:collision_box"to view the current collision box dimensions.Alternatively, measure the bee’s height and width in-game to observe the collision box mismatch.
Observed Result:
Bedrock Edition Bee Collision Box:
Adult: Height = 0.5 blocks, Width = 0.55 blocks
Baby: Height = 0.25 blocks, Width = 0.275 blocks
Java Edition Bee Collision Box:
Adult: Height = 0.6 blocks, Width = 0.7 blocks
Baby: Height = 0.3 blocks, Width = 0.35 blocks
The bee’s collision box in Bedrock Edition does not match Java Edition’s dimensions.
Expected Result:
The bee’s collision box in Bedrock Edition should be updated to match Java Edition’s dimensions:
Adult: Height = 0.6 blocks, Width = 0.7 blocks
Baby: Height = 0.3 blocks, Width = 0.35 blocks
