On Minecraft Bedrock Edition for Android, the app’s storage “Data” size continuously increases the more the game is played. This happens even when no new content is downloaded.
The issue occurs consistently on version 1.21.132 Hotfix, especially when playing on Realms and using resource packs / PvP texture packs. Each gameplay session appears to create additional cached data (Realm session data, resource pack duplicates, logs, or temporary files) that are not cleaned up or overwritten properly.
Clearing the app cache does not fix the problem, and the storage growth continues across multiple sessions. Over time, Minecraft can consume several gigabytes of storage unnecessarily.
The only way to reduce the storage size is to manually delete folders inside Android/data/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/, such as resource packs and logs, which should not be required for normal gameplay.
Steps to reproduce:
Install Minecraft Bedrock on Android
Update to version 1.21.132 Hotfix
Join a Realm
Enable one or more resource packs / PvP texture packs
Play for 30–60 minutes
Close the game and check Android Settings → Apps → Minecraft → Storage
Repeat gameplay sessions and observe that the Data size keeps increasing
Expected behavior:
Minecraft should reuse or clean old Realm cache, logs, and resource pack data, and the app’s Data size should remain stable unless new content is downloaded.
Actual behavior:
The app’s Data size increases every time the game is played. This happens even without creating new worlds or installing new packs. The issue appears to affect Android specifically.
Device example: Samsung Galaxy A14 (issue is also reported by other Android users).
