It's possible to get the 'You Need a Mint' achievement without going to The End by crafting an Iron Spear, or collecting it from a defeated mob.
This bug happened to me a few weeks ago, but I didn't consider reporting it because there were many active addons in my world. However, this ended up happening again today with the friend I was playing with, and we were having a purely vanilla gameplay session.
(Also confirmed to happen on the Android platform.)
