Hello Minecraft Support Team,
I am writing to report an issue and ask for your help regarding the loss of my Hardcore world on PlayStation 4 (Bedrock Edition).
I was playing in my Hardcore world and had just earned the achievement for obtaining a Blaze Rod. When the PlayStation notification appeared, I pressed the PS button to check the achievement/trophy details. I believed the game was paused, but when I returned to Minecraft, my character was dead.
It seems that the game continued running in the background while I was in the PlayStation menu. During that time, my character was attacked by a Wither Skeleton, received the Wither effect, and died without me being able to react or defend myself.
Because this was a Hardcore world, the death permanently deleted my world, even though I was not actively playing at that moment and had no control over my character.
I understand that Hardcore mode is meant to be unforgiving, but in this case the death happened because the game does not pause when opening the console menu, which is not clearly warned to the player and feels very unfair.
I am also attaching screenshots showing the exact moment the achievement was unlocked and the game state before the death, to demonstrate that this happened while I was checking the PlayStation menu and not actively playing.
I would like to kindly ask if there is any possibility to review this case, recover my world, or at least register this as feedback/bug so this situation can be avoided in the future.
This bug tracker is not the “Support Team” and we do not have any access to your local device or worlds so we cannot help you to recover a lost world based on a bug report.
