Chest UI glitches with green pixelation

anytime I open a chest, echest shulker, any kind of UI menu it glitches, makes some green pixelation effect for a split second where the UI should be, freezes the game.. unfreeze then regardless of what you do. after you close that GUI your game freezes and you have to restart. ihad packs on so I turned them all off. still froze. no idea what to do
