The problem occurs when using Vibrant Visuals mode with reflection settings set above Medium and the render distance preferably set to minimum, but the problem also occurs at maximum.
When standing behind a tree and looking at a body of water, a white artifact, similar to mist or shadow, appears on the water's surface directly behind the tree trunk and to the side of it.
The artifact moves with the player's jump/movement and does not behave like a normal reflection or shadow. It seems to be a rendering conflict or something similar.
I don't have any resource packs, neither texture nor behavior.
Steps to reproduce:
Set the Graphics mode to Vibrant Visuals.
Set the reflections above medium quality. I tested this and below that the water is static and the 'problem' doesn't appear.
My rendering is at 26 chunks. But I tested this and at the lowest rendering the effect is even more visible.
Stand behind a tree.
Look at the water in the background with something dark as a base on the horizon... like another group of trees I demonstrated in the video.
Keep jumping from side to side, and you will see the shadow/mist moving along with you.
