Any time I have add on in a realm totaling 200mb or more and a friend joins without owning them the game either loads forever or crashes to the Home Screen. However after buying one of the larger add ons I put on the realm and downloading it themselves they got in no problem. My conclusion is that the “download and join” function is either not working correctly, or is being used to force players to buy content to play with friends.
