Character face item glitch w/ color of the eyes

In the Minecraft’s character creation, when I’ve built my character for a long time and used it for a while, I recently played and looked at my character but while I was showing my friends, I noticed my eye was a different color so I went in to change it, nothing happened until I took off my animated face item which is called Alchemist’s soul mask, and I can’t fix it, the colors are still on, it’s just the eyes are stuck in default when I put it on, but the face mask completes the look of the character plus the color of the eyes
