[MCPE-23843] Maximum render distance downgraded from 14 to 6

Before the 1.2 update my maximum render distance was 14 chunks but when I updated it downgraded to 6 chunks

Playing MCPE on the newly released iOS version on an iPad. Confirming that this went live (not beta) with 6 chunk max whereas I was using 14 with absolutely no issues before. The world is so much more claustrophobic now. Can we please allow a max higher than 6 again??

EDIT: I restarted my iPhone 6S and now MCPE 1.2 allows me to choose upto 14 chunks again..
still think it’s a bug within MCPE itself.

Oh awesome, thanks for figuring that out! Confirmed, after restarting my iPad, I too have access to the higher settings. Set it back to 14 like I had before and confirmed I can see far again.

For me it was even stranger, with 1.1.x my render distance (on an iPad Pro) was 22 chunks which worked fine, then after installing 1.2 yesterday the maximum was 14, and today it's only 6.

I would really like to have my 22 back again! Thanks!

Update: After restarting the App I was able to select 14 again, but not the previous 22.

This is so annoying!

Btw if you want to change the render distance, you need to find the right file in android file explorer or import these game files to your computer (iOS) using iTunes, change the number in the right file and put it back to your iOS device. Mine is right now 20.
