Minecraft won't open

Since the latest update Minecraft crashes immediately when attempting to connect to my Microsoft account so the game closes unexpectedly during the sign-in process and I have discovered that it only launches normally if I disable my Wi-Fi connection but as soon as I turn the internet back on the game crashes to desktop instantly which means I cannot stay logged in or play online because the game fails to stay open as long as there is an active connection to Microsoft services and I am reporting this because the game currently only works in offline mode
