In Bedrock Edition, sulfur caves that generate close to the surface fail to produce associated features — specifically cinnabar, sulfur blocks, sulfur spikes, and sulfur springs. According to a comment by a Mojang official on MC-307323, surface-level sulfur caves are intended to generate these features just as they do when the cave generates deeper underground. Currently, this is not happening.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a new world using the seed
934598.Navigate to the coordinates
49 95 -62.Observe the terrain features present on the surface at this location.
Observed Results:
The surface only generates large amounts of stone blocks. No cinnabar, sulfur, sulfur spikes, or sulfur fountains are present.
Expected Results:
The surface-level sulfur cave should generate the normal cave features — cinnabar, sulfur, sulfur spikes, and sulfur fountains — exactly as they would appear inside a sulfur cave located deeper underground.
