The text has different properties when the GUI Scale is not at default

When using a resource pack that changes the font texture for example default8.png, the text visual is different when the GUI scale is not at default.

The best way to see this by editing the █ in the default8.png into a gradient square from #FFFFFF to #000000.

From my testing, it only affects the grayscale color.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Use the Smooth Font.mcpack in the Global Resources

  2. Run “/title @s title Gradient? █”

  3. Change the GUI Scale

Expected Result:

The gradient visual on the square texture is the same at all GUI Scales.

Actual Result:

The gradient visual on the square texture is different.
