Description:
In Minecraft Bedrock Edition versions 26.30 and 26.31, the Ender Dragon no longer performs its post-perch charge attack toward the player under conditions where it previously did in earlier versions (tested working in 26.20 and before).
After perching at the central End fountain/podium, the dragon leaves the perch phase but instead of initiating a charge attack, it flies away without targeting the player.
Steps to reproduce:
Enter the End dimension.
Position the player approximately 30 blocks from the central End fountain/podium in direct line of sight of the Ender Dragon.
Ensure Survival mode.
Wait for the Ender Dragon to enter perch phase.
Allow the dragon to finish perching and leave the fountain.
Expected result:
After leaving the perch, the Ender Dragon should initiate a charge attack targeting the player, as in previous versions (≤26.20).
Actual result:
The Ender Dragon does not perform a charge attack and instead flies away without targeting the player.
Notes:
Reproduced consistently across multiple attempts.
Appears to have changed starting in version 26.30.
Previously functioning in version 26.20 and earlier. The dragon flies away and doesn’t charge at the player!
