In the latest Minecraft Bedrock Android Beta (26.40.27), the system back gesture and back button do not work as intended in ANY in-game screen. Instead of navigating back to the previous menu, the app directly exits to the Android home screen/launcher every time I press back.
This happens universally across all screens, including but not limited to:
- Main menu
- Settings menu
- Profile/Account screen
- Create World screen
- Marketplace
- Any sub-menu or nested page
Expected behavior:
- Pressing back should navigate to the previous screen within the app, and only exit when on the main menu.
Actual behavior:
- Pressing back immediately closes the app and returns to the Android home screen from ANY screen.
Device information:
- Device: Xiaomi turner 25079RPDCC
- OS: Android 16 (SDK 36)
- Game version: 26.40.27 (Beta)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Minecraft and navigate to ANY screen (e.g. Settings, Profile, Create World)
2. Press the system back gesture or back button
3. The app exits directly instead of going back
This issue occurs 100% of the time, regardless of which screen the player is on. Other Android apps handle back navigation correctly, so this is clearly an app-side bug, not an OS issue. Please investigate.
