Any block that has a block item, that is a minecraft:item with block_placer of the same identifier, will fail to be recognize as a valid block by entities. This report showcases just ONE of many entity behaviours that rely on blocks. This demo showcases move_to_block. Attached below is the code snippet of the entity.
Recreation Steps:
Download the attached pack
Place down
ss_big:block_with_no_block_item,ss_big:block_with_block_item,ss_big:block_with_block_item_but_no_replaceSpawn a
ss_big:entity
Expected Behaviour:
Entity pathfinds to either of the 3 blocks
Actual Behaviour:
Entity only pathfinds to the block that does not have a block item
Additional information:
This bug occurs regardless if block_placer has replace_block_item set to true or false, so long the block has an item equivalent it will break the entity behaviour.
This can be verified if you modify my pack and delete the item JSONs.

yes, I agree. This is a big problem especially when you have a block that needs traits that can only be added to an item json as well as have entity behavior goals that rely on the block.
