I want to address a critical flaw in how player data is handled on mobile devices. I strongly believe the root cause of the persistent "lost world" issue is tied directly to the Microsoft account login process, and the removal of the Import/Export buttons makes it impossible for us to protect ourselves.
Every time I log into my Microsoft account on Minecraft Bedrock, my local worlds disappear, reset, or fail to load. Because the "Export World" feature is missing for mobile players, we have absolutely no way to back up our save files before this happens.
This creates a punishing cycle for the mobile player base:
We invest days or weeks of effort into building a world.
The game prompts a Microsoft login or we log in to access certain features.
The login process causes the game to lose or corrupt the local save data.
Because we cannot natively export or back up our files beforehand, everything is gone permanently.
This is an awful way to treat the community. We are losing hours of hard work to a login sync issue, and the very tools we need to protect our data have been taken away from us.
Please investigate why the Microsoft login process is wiping local worlds on mobile, and please restore the Import/Export world buttons so we can safely back up our games!
