Furnace recipe menu filter resets upon rejoining world

When opening a furnace, the recipe menu has a filter that can be set to all recipes, or just smeltable recipes. I normally set this to smeltable recipes to avoid clutter from recipes I can’t currently use. There is a similar filter in the crafting menu, which saves in between sessions. However, for the furnace menu, when I rejoin the world or realm, the filter resets to all recipes, so I have to reset it every time I join a world.
