Villager trading wont work

Villager trading wont work at all. At first I thought it was my Add-ons or resource packs, but even after I got rid of every addon/pack and global resource addons the game wont let me trade with villagers (except wandering traders for some reason). Every vanilla world I create still wont let me trade with villagers and the prompt to trade does not come up. I doubled check to make sure this wasn't a Key-bind issue and made sure my game was in the latest version.
