Issues with dappled forest update

When I went into my world everything was fine but when I went to the new structure that was added in, it wouldn’t let me open the chest or break blocks and my game froze. I was able to move around but I couldn’t open my inventory. I was also on with my sister and she was moving around but on my end she was frozen and it was the same for her on her end where she was moving but I was frozen. When I tried to press pause to get out of the word it froze everything and I had to close the game completely. I haven’t been able to play that world since the 15th. But I’m able to play on my realm. None of these problems were happening until I ran the new dappled forest update.
