Title: Bedrock 26.52 – Cannot join self-created/external Bedrock servers (NetherNet / InitialConnection-13)
Description:
I am unable to join Bedrock Dedicated Servers that I create or host through third-party server hosting services.
The important detail is that official/featured multiplayer servers work normally. I can successfully join servers such as The Hive and CubeCraft using the same Minecraft client, device, account, and cellular network.
However, when I try to join a Bedrock server that I created on an external hosting service, the connection fails with:
Multiplayer Connection Failed – NetherNet
This happens across multiple different hosting providers, including:
- Aternos
- Minefort
- MineKeep
- ScalaCube
I also updated Minecraft to Bedrock 1.26.52 as soon as the latest hotfix became available and created a new server using the corresponding version, but the problem still occurs.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.26.52 on Android.
2. Use a cellular/mobile-data connection.
3. Create/start a compatible Bedrock Dedicated Server through an external hosting provider.
4. Add the server using its IP address and port.
5. Attempt to join.
6. The connection fails with the NetherNet error.
7. Open “Show Details”.
Expected result:
The client should connect to the external Bedrock Dedicated Server normally.
Actual result:
The client fails to establish the connection and displays NetherNet / InitialConnection-13.
Error details:
- Minecraft version: 1.26.52
- Device: Xiaomi 211033MI (POCO C31)
- Android: Android 11
- Transport shown in error details: RakNet:2193
- Network Type: 2
- Connection: Cellular
- Error Detail: InitialConnection-13
- Error code: NetherNet
- World/Server name: BEST TRIO Server
Important comparison:
Using the exact same Minecraft installation, device, account and network:
- The Hive: works
- CubeCraft: works
- Self-created/external Bedrock servers: fail
I tested multiple independent hosting providers and received the same NetherNet error, so the issue does not appear to be limited to one particular hosting provider.
I have attached screenshots showing the NetherNet error and the complete error details.
Please investigate whether there is a problem with NetherNet/dedicated-server connections from Android Bedrock clients to externally hosted Bedrock Dedicated Servers, particularly when connecting over cellular networks.
