Game freezes when riding Happy Ghast, and disappears upon reloading

Whenever I ride an happy ghast with something attached(boat) to it via lead, the game completely freezes with backroung sound still playing, forcing a hard exit of the game. Upon reloading the world, the happy ghast is gone leaving only the boat on the ground. This happened almost everytime I was riding the happy ghast. I play on Xbox but the problem has been noticed by other players playing on different platforms.

I am the author of the reddit post included in the original report. I do not have video but I can provide additional details.

I play on PC using an Intel I9 12700, rtx 6800xt, and 32G of DDR5.

This is a consistent issue, originally noticed on my realm. I do have add ons for the realm, but I was able to recreate the bug in a vanilla creative world as well.

Whenever a boat is attached to a happy ghast with a lead and flown, the game crashes within 5 mins of flying. I do not think it is a collision issue with blocks as it will happen at high y levels with no other blocks around.

When the game crashes the screen will freeze but background sound will still play (such as the sound of the ghast flying)

I have tried letting my PC sit for about an hour in this state hoping for an error code, but it remains frozen on the screen and minecraft has to be forcibly shut down through alt+f4 or the task manager.

When logging back into the same world after a crash the ghast disappears and drops the boat and sometimes the harness it was wearing as well. I have tried to fly around in about a 50 block radius from the point of the crash to confirm the ghast was not simply outside of render distance. As far as I can tell it disappears entirely.

I have tested this on a vanilla world and get the same results even after uninstall and reinstall and removing all add ons. After uninstall it seems more stable however the crash still happens within aprox. 10 minutes of flying with a boat attached
