TextPrimitive with depthTest set to true still shows through blocks when Vibrant Visuals is enabled

TextPrimitive.depthTest (@minecraft/server 2.10.0) is documented as: "If set to true, the text will be hidden behind blocks or entities." This works as expected with Simple and Fancy graphics. With Vibrant Visuals enabled, the text ignores depthTest and is always drawn through blocks.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a behavior pack with a script that depends on @minecraft/server 2.10.0, using this script:

    import { world, TextPrimitive } from "@minecraft/server";

    world.afterEvents.playerSpawn.subscribe(({ player }) => {
      const dimension = player.dimension;
      const { x, y, z } = player.location;
      const text = new TextPrimitive({ dimension, x: x + 5, y: y + 1.5, z }, "depthTest = true");
      text.depthTest = true;
      world.primitiveShapesManager.addText(text, dimension);
    });

  2. Load a world with the pack applied. The text appears 5 blocks east of the player's spawn point.

  3. Build a solid wall (e.g. stone) between the player and the text.

  4. With the graphics mode set to Simple or Fancy, look at the wall.

  5. Switch the graphics mode to Vibrant Visuals and look at the wall again.

Observed Results: With Simple or Fancy graphics, the text is hidden behind the wall. With Vibrant Visuals, the text is drawn on top of the wall, as if depthTest were false.

Expected Results: With depthTest set to true, the text is hidden behind the wall in every graphics mode, including Vibrant Visuals.

Notes:

  • Seen with text from two separate add-ons in the same world, so it isn't specific to one pack.

  • Setting depthTest before or after addText makes no difference.

  • Changing backgroundColorOverride makes no difference.
