In Bedrock Edition 26.70.21 Preview/Beta, a new “Online audio” option was added to the settings interface. However, after enabling a resource pack that modifies the settings interface, players are redirected to the legacy JSON UI settings interface. In that interface, the “Online audio” option is entirely missing, causing the settings functionality under the legacy UI path to be inconsistent with the new version.
This issue is not isolated. Bedrock Edition is gradually replacing the legacy JSON UI with Ore UI. Ore UI interfaces are hardcoded implementations, whereas JSON UI was originally designed to allow resource packs to modify layouts and controls through modifications and other means. When a resource pack redirects the settings interface back to the JSON UI version, the hardcoded settings items newly added in the new version are not reflected in the legacy interface that still relies on JSON definitions, creating a functionality gap.
Reproduction steps
1. Enable the resource pack in Global Resources: Vanilla Optimization Modpack V3.1.6 (or another resource pack that includes modifications to the settings interface). Download link: https://www.123pan.com/s/hIA5Vv-Ri0wd.html
2. Return to the main menu and click “Settings” → “Global Resources”. The game then redirects to the legacy JSON UI settings interface.
3. In the legacy interface, select the “General” tab.
4. Look for the “Online audio” option newly added in 26.70.21.
Expected result: Regardless of whether the settings interface is presented as Ore UI or JSON UI, “Online audio,” as a basic feature added in 26.70.21, should remain synchronously visible and operable in both interfaces.
Actual result: The legacy JSON UI settings interface does not have the “Online audio” option, and this setting cannot be adjusted in that interface.
