Description:
Minecraft Bedrock Realms world uploads and downloads on the native PS5 version are extremely slow compared to Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch 2.
I tested all three consoles running Minecraft Bedrock 26.60 on the same Wi-Fi connection.
My results:
PS5 — 83.3 MB world: Upload 5 minutes 45 seconds, Download 4 minutes 13 seconds.
Xbox Series S — 93 MB world: Upload 36 seconds, Download 4 seconds.
Nintendo Switch 2 — 86 MB world: Upload 36 seconds, Download 26 seconds.
The PS5 takes approximately 9.6 times longer to upload and 9.7 times longer to download compared to Nintendo Switch 2, despite transferring a slightly smaller world.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Bedrock 26.60 on native PS5.
Open Realms world management.
Upload an approximately 80–90 MB world to a Realm.
Measure the upload time.
Download the world from the Realm and measure the download time.
Compare transfer times with Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch 2 on the same Wi-Fi connection.
Expected Result:
PS5 should transfer similarly sized Realms worlds at speeds reasonably comparable to other supported consoles.
Actual Result:
PS5 requires several minutes to upload and download worlds that Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch 2 transfer in seconds.
The PS5 upload initially progresses quickly but slows significantly around 50%.
Both PS5 transfers completed successfully, but transfer speeds remain extremely slow even after update 26.60.
This issue was also present before update 26.60.
Please investigate the significant Realms transfer performance difference on native PS5.
