I've been fishing for a couple of irl days now but can't seem to get any nametags. My fishing rod is level 3 everything and I've even gotten 3 mending books so far. Yesterday I checked the wiki for all items you can get while fishing and I have at least 5 of each item possible to catch in the game. But I've noticed occasionally that when I reel in my line, there isn't anything caught. It's nothing. So one of my theories is it's supposed to be a nametag but it's not registering? Even with the 4 monster dungeons, nether fortresses, and villages I've scavenged through, there hasn't been a single nametag found in the chests.

I have the exact same issue. I´ve spent a whole weeks play searching through chests by mob spawners, searched through four different dungeons in the Nether and I have spent approx 15 hours fishing (what a waste of time) and I still have not found a single name tag!
I´m starting to doubt I´ll ever find a nametag and I think it´s more likely that there´s something wrong. I haven´t been counting but I think i´ve been through atleast 100 chests by now without finding one. On the java version I found them everywhere!
