Hopper speed broken

This video shows 4 hoppers in total the first 2 hoppers on the left are pointed downwards and the second 2 on the right are point sideways. Each hopper is holding exactly 64 items and each of the hoppers are un powered at the exact same time and yet some how the hoppers which are pointing down on the left are a lot quicker then the sideways hoppers on the right. you can see in the video proof of this. Hoppers no matter what direction they are pointing should have the exact same speed.

I'm not sure if this is the reason but maybe it's because hoppers 'push' their content to where they are pointing and 'pull' contents from containers directly above them. Since the one on the left had the top hopper pointing down, the bottom hopper 'pulled' contents while the top hopper 'pushed' the contents to the bottom hopper which made it faster than the one on the right which only had the bottom hopper 'pull' the items.

I just checked the wiki. Turns out I was right. The setup on the left is intended to be faster (explained on my previous comment) than the setup on the right. According to the wiki, your setup on the left moves 2.5 items per second but the one on the right is only about 1 item per second so it makes sense that the first setup is faster.

But if the one the right only moved 1 item a second the 64 items inside the hopper on the right would have roughly taken 64 seconds but it didn’t it only took around 20 seconds.

I made a mistake. The left one moves 5 items per second. The setup on the right pulls 2.5 items at a time so it should take about 26 seconds while the left one moves items twice as fast than the setup on the right. That means both setups take less than 30 seconds to move 64 items but the one on the left is 2x faster than the right. This ticket can now be closed as WAI.

After doing some more research i understand now why this is intended behaviour, thanks for the help and sorry abut thinking this was a bug. If you ever get a chance could you please check out a report i posted on tuesday called "Hoppers not sucking items correctly" it is all about how a hopper will only hold 64 items if connected into a chest. Here is the link if you ever get a quick chance to have a look, thanks for all the help 🙂 https://bugs.mojang.com/projects/MCPE/issues/MCPE-35132?filter=allopenissues
