Tripwire hooks not staying active when fishing rod bobber is on it

I have been playing the Minecraft PE on the Xbox one and trying to create an AFK fish farm to help gather some fish and rarer fishing drops, but for some reason it seems like every time I get the lure over the string and activate the tripwire hooks, they will stay on for a few seconds, then go back to the un-tripped state for a moment before retripping. This is an endless cycle, and it's becoming a bit frustrating to not have the ability to have the fishing rob and lure act how it does in all these tutorial videos that I see. Could it be something I am doing wrong? Thank you for any help provided.

Edit: I DO NOT PLAY ON SERVERS! I literally play just locally or on small realms with friends only. I also only play Minecraft on the Xbox One, so if you do comment, please realize that I understand why it may not work on servers, but once again I'm NOT playing on servers.

AFK fishing is a major exploit.

My issue is that I’m not using it for AFK farming. I’m using it for faster and more entertaining fishing. I want a constantly activated tripwire hook so that I can have a constant Redstone signal to make a musical circuit out of for while I’m am fishing only. It’s also the fact I enjoy having tripwire hooks that are super sensitive for if someone tried anything sneaky with fishing rods in cause I make a security system with them.

I wasn't aware of afk fishing but I doubt its as bad as the various dupings. Hackers use duping machines to make realms unplayable as I found out last week. By the time the owner realised it, there were so many minecarts noone could log in at spawn /0\. Although people had noticed 'a lot of minecarts near spawn' noone realised the significance until the map became unplayable.

Scratch that - I just read the reddit post on it and like duping and those 32k items, its a plague! I'm a non-afk fisher and now realise that his issue sounds suspicious too :/

@A Noob, I do not AFK fish either, nor do I play on servers. I play local only Survival mode, and even if I didn't, I do not leave the Minecraft screen at all (especially since I play on the Xbox One and you can't switch screens). I literally just enjoy holding the trigger on my controller down instead of having to constantly press it as a means of not only saving my controller, but as I said earlier as a way of having a constant redstone signal that I can use for other means, like working on designing a circuit to produce music while I fish. Do I agree with you that AFK fishing can slow down and cause issues with Servers? Yes, I do agree, which is again the reason I don't play on Servers.
