When using the furnace, can put items in the top slot but can't take items out or switch to the bottom slot.

I have this problem too since upgrading to MCPE v0.7.0.
What I expect to happen:
Put objects in the top slot of the furnace, then try to add coal/charcoal to the bottom slot. This should result in the furnace firing up and smelting the ore/making sand into glass/etc.
What Actually Happens:
You cannot put anything into the lower slot at all, so the furnace never starts. You cannot remove items from the top slot either. (Unless you smash the furnace and recover them that way)
Steps to Reproduce:
Make a furnace.
Tap on it
Add any object to the top slot that you might want to smelt/convert/cook, e.g. iron ore or sand, etc.
Try to add coal to the lower slot - you cannot.
Try to move objects back out of the top slot - you cannot.
Workarounds:
None that I can find. I have tried stop/restarting the game. Complete iPad restart. Close all other apps and so on. Have also tried adjusting game settings. None of these actions solve the problem so I think it is a code bug that you will need to fix please.
