Random and Frequent Disconnection on Game Servers, even with Strong Wi-Fi Connection

In Minecraft Pocket Edition v. 0.4.0, I am frequently disconnected from the Minecraft server at random times. By random, I mean that the amount of time I'm on the server before I'm disconnected usually varies. This problem occurs even if I'm playing Minecraft with my brother less than 5 feet from each other and connected to the same Wi-Fi Connection Point. This problem occurs every time I join his server and every time I'm forced to quit and re-join the server. He quit the server as well, and that did not fix the problem. If possible, please fix this problem in Pocket Edition v. 0.5.0. Thanks!

Are both devices an iPod touch? Do you notice any lag during game play or just before you disconnect? What happens when the other device hosts the game? One thing you can try is to close all the background applications. Double-tap the home button, hold your finger down on an app in the taskbar, then tap the minus in the corner of each icon to close them. This will free up a lot of memory.
The only times i've had disconnections (and we do 3 player here) is when one person quits to the menu to turn friendly mode on/off, or if we are too far away from our crap wifi (10 meters through concrete walls), or MCPE is sitting in the background.

I have the exact same issue. My bf and I play in the same room on separate iPads, one is the ipad 2 and the other is the ipad hd, and it always kicks whoever isn't hosting off.and we have tried both of us hosting and it just won't last. Drives me nuts because its when I downloaded it on mine.

Are you able to test on another wifi network to rule out that it's your wifi network causing the problem? I've never had wifi issues unless one of the devices are too far away from the router. I've even tried using my iPhone as the router (personal hotspot), and having 2 iPads connected to it via wifi, and that's stable too (won't work via bluetooth hotspot, FYI).

I did try a few different networks in different towns ( friends houses wifi hot spots etc) and it still happens

Have you tried a 3rd device? 3rd device and iPad3 (to rule out if iPad2 wifi is problematic), and 3rd device with iPad2 (to rule out if iPad3 wifi is problematic). I play all the time with iPad2 + ipad3 (no SIM), I can't see how this combination can cause disconnects. My wife has iPad3 with a 3G SIM installed, for some reason her connection toggles between 3G and wifi when we play Minecraft, which causes the game to disconnect on us, so I turn off "Cellular Data" so the connection will remain on wifi. This fixes it.

Yes I have, also i have the ipad 2 and 3, and i tired with other peoples ipads. in different places. and i dont have cellular data inly wifi. sorry I didn't reply for a while so is this issue not resolved now? I'm confused!
