gamebreakingly low mob spawn rate

there is hardly any naturally spawned mobs in the world at all friendly or hostile 

i had to steal black wool from a village to make a bed because there is no sheep

the only food source is crops because theres no animals

i can be in the nether on hard difficulty and barely see mobs this is game-breaking i find myself very bored
