Campfire disappears when you spill water on it

The campfire is supposed to extinguish when water is placed on it, are you talking about the block disappearing?

It does currently drop 2 Coal when destroyed by water.

Possibly you have to enable tile drops.

Observed behavior:
The campfire can not be waterlogged with a water bucket to extinguish the fire. And gets destroyed by flowing water.

Expected behavior:
The campfire can be extinguished by clicking on it with a water bucket. Flowing water will not break the campfire.

Yes, I am talking about the block disappearing. And I know it drops 2 coal but as you write the campfire can't be waterlogged. Instead of, it will be destroyed.
