When jungle leaves are placed at y=100 or higher, on fancy graphics, only the placeholder textures are shown. When fancy graphics are off, the leaves turn black.
To replicate, place jungle leaves at y=100 or higher, or grow jungle trees at a high place. I have only tested it in extreme hills biome.

The blacked out leaves look terrible. Especially against the snow. And turning on fancy graphics reveals the very repetitive placeholder. Please fix this sometime soon. My base is in snowy plains and Iām trying to decorate...
I added images showing that the borders between normal and placeholder texture "zones" can be irregular. I have no idea if this is useful information or not. It might just show that boundaries between Extreme Hills and other biomes happen to be irregularly-shaped.
Observed on a modded realms plus template on iOS in 1.17.2 hotfix.
please note the world had mods.
I'm currently using faithful 32 textures. However, even using vanilla/default textures, the placeholder textures are still visible. So, it is not a bug caused by texture packs.
