Not keeping armor inventory on multiplayer

Since the new update, players are keeping their inventory on multiplayer!
BUT NOT THE ARMOR!!

I played with my friend on his lan and in HIS world
I put on some armor and later i relogged, and my armor was gone after relogging! He didnt close the server during i wasnt online. But its gone!!
But my inventory stays the same
My friend was using an iPad 2
