Recently, I've cured 4 zombie villagers and the achievement hasn't been awarded. 3 were zombie villagers that came from the water along with some Drowned and one found in the desert. Hit all with potion, gave golden apple, and they were cured and subsequently assigned roles (Cleric, Librarian, butcher, and weaponsmith)..
