I know that there are at least 2 reports for this same bug but the bug is still there.
As shown in the pictures below a cake with no uses has the outside texture, one with 1 bite taken out has the inside texture, but one with 2 or more bites taken out has the outside edge texture again.

However, this issue has been closed as a Duplicate of MCPE-14757.
Please add a vote and any new information to the main ticket, which will be updated accordingly.
Making duplicate tickets, takes away time for the Mods to look at other tickets. Reporting the same issue more than once, does not make the issue get fixed faster.
Plus there is no set date/release for a fix to be pushed out
