mobs never spawning in the dark

i have made a huge deep hole with multiple spawning platforms for mobs and it is completely dark all the caves and possible spawning areas are lit up but nothing is spawning on my platforms i also tried this on java and they spawn on all the platforms so this is a bedrock issue because of no mobs to spawn making it hard to farm mobs and making the game feel unbalanced.
