There seems to be a missing/overlooked behaviour for entities when they randomly look at the player. They are only supposed to look at the player when they are visible. However, they still look at the player even when they are invisible. It's very noticeable every time I go in the Nether and the Piglins just stare at me even though I'm invisible.
What I expected to happen was:
Nothing would happen. The mob would just continue on its way.
What actually happened was:
The mob would eventually stare at you.
Steps to Reproduce:
Get an Invisibility potion; Preferably one with 8:00. (If in creative use: "/effect @s invisibility [seconds; int] [amplifier; int] [true;false]" )
Go to a mob, (spawn one if in creative mode)
If you are close enough eventually the mob will look at you.

Mobs also pathfind perfectly when you attack them even when you use the command to hide the particles
when invisible the mobs detection range is decreased so they can see you if you get into that detection range
