End Gateways not following set mechanics

some of my end gateways have generated over the void right next to the edge of the main end island, and I think it is messing up the way you return through them.

when I come back to the main island through a gateway, I am not teleported in the area that I am supposed to be. On the Minecraft wiki it said that there was an 11 x 11 block perimeter around the portal that I could teleport to, but it sends me to the edge of the island like 50 blocks away. I tried to make it teleport me closer to the actual gateway, but it just kept putting me super far away. Eventually, I removed enough blocks around the area it was sending me to, and instead of generating a small island for me to go to within the 11 x 11 block perimeter, it generated one over 20 blocks away, and refuses to follow the mechanics that all the other gateways I have ever used have followed. A few times, it has even sent me over the void, where I had to fly away with my elytra, so it didn’t even bother to detect solid blocks that I could land on. It just threw me over the void.

Adding to this ticket on the advice of Mojira Discord Helper (LateLag).

We are having issues with the end gate portals on our realm running Bedrock 1.14.20.

We have an end gateway (generated after ender dragon kill #2) that when players are returning from the outer end islands, the landing position on the main end island keeps being pushed further and further from the initial point.

Additionally, on both end gateways, the player does not return on the platform constructed around the end gateway portal and instead is quite a few blocks away, which seems to contradict the wiki.

Please confirm correct functionality and how far away a player should be appearing adjacent to the end gateway portal when returning to the main end island.

Picture: Torches show how far away the progression has been on the landing spot on the return trip from the outer end islands. The end gateway can be seen just off the main island in the distance. (Screenshot_2020-02-01-17-34-05.png)

Just in case there was any doubt that it was the torches causing the issue, we removed all the torches and made note of the last position and did a few more trips back and forth. When we kept coming back, the distance still kept increasing and did not change when all the other torches were removed prior to last test.

Regarding the first end gateway generated, although the return trip also does not land the player on the constructed platform around the end gateway structure, the landing position is at least static and does not move regarding of the number of times players travel to and from the outer islands using that end gateway. The landing position on the outer end island is much more adjacent to the end gateway (practically below it). But in the case of the 2nd generated gateway, that distance is much greater and generated right on the edge of the outer end island.

Picture: And showing the distance away from the portal on the outer island. This seems a bit strange. However, it is the same spot at least every transport. (Screenshot_2020-02-01-18-07-29.png). Again, we would think that the landing spot would be adjacent to the end gateway, which generated directly above solid ground.

We did have one player fall into the void upon completion of transport, but we believe that they may have been pushed by an endermite that was generated with them on the outer end islands. Another reason to be concerned that the target location was on the edge of a drop to The Void.

I created a new local world from the same seed, killed the dragon twice and proceeded with testing. In both portal cases, the landing position on the main island continues to shift over time.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with whether the player marks the original landing spot either by putting a torch, or replacing the block under their feet, but it would appear that doing this causes the gateway to become confused on the return trip to the in any way modified block, even if the change was undone.

I would consider this to be glitchy behavior. I can provide the seed upon request, but am not including it in this post since I am not sure how to make it private.

So this issue is occuring on both local worlds and realms?

Desert Prince

Yes confirmed happening both locally and on realms.

Also did more testing on the local world, the landing spot on the main island keeps shifting regardless of the landing spot being modified or marked even from the initial spot. This is definitely a weird one. It seems stable on the outer island side of things UNLESS someone places a block/layer over that spot that causes issues, then it begins creeping as well.
