Barrier blocks don't transmit redstone signals. If you place a redstone repeater facing into a barrier, the signal doesn't go trough, so redstone lamps don't lit, pistons don't extend, redstone signals don't continue and redstone torches attached to the powered barrier don't unlit. This bug breaks lots of redstone circuits with barriers.
