When a person go through the neither portal in the loading screen, you'll hear tick damage then die. The screen will say "a person die from suffocating in a wall" when you didn't even load into the neither realm. Then you respawn back to your back after you go back to get your stuff, it's not even there anymore. So you lost your levels and items. This happen twice plus with my other teammate. I don't even want to go through the neither anymore.

Same problem here. A server running 1.16.221.01. When server under heavy load the player gets damage when still on 'Generating World’ after getting through a Nether portal. If player dies, which often happens, it is very hard or impossible to retrieve the items as player don’t know where they are.

Any chance of getting an idea when that will be resolved?
Same thing happened to me. I was going home from the nether, and I just started suffocating while still on the loading screen. All of my stuff gone... (sigh)
