On iPhone 5s, seeds don't place well

A picture of my farm is posted below to show the environment of the seeds.

When I place a seed next to the other, all the touching seeds disappear,

Plants cannot survive in areas with no light.

That's how there supposed to look

It's not the look. It's the fact that they disappear once I place seeds next to them.
