Everything with POI's seem to not honor the villager(s) having a valid path.
Villagers are choosing workstations that they cannot path to.
Villagers are choosing beds they cannot path to.
Villagers are choosing to breed when they cannot path to an "extra bed."
I took over a village, iron door'd the villagers into houses as singles and then a few villagers in a "library" house. Villagers were choosing workstations and beds in other houses. Villagers in the library were having babies even though there were no valid beds in their house.
I've tested with villagers in a room of solid cobblestone and they are still choosing/counting beds/workstations outside of the room as long as they are in the range of the normal search.

Accessibility has no impact on connecting to POI (beds, workstations). Only distance within built-in detection range matters.
