minecart is stuck on activator rail and moves side to side

when i went to turn on the acvtivator rail then i put the minecart on it and it was stuck moving 

side to side and when i got in it kicked me out

yeah the minecart is not working on the rail.

That is what activator rails are supposed to do. The rails you're most likely looking for are powered rails.
