My friend got Minecraft java edition before its launch on windows store but he didnt got any code for that version, and i also had it and i had recieved it, what is wrong with his code for redeem?

If you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018, while waiting for the fix, you can contact Mojang support to get a new code. If you have a non-working code, please include it
