I travel a long way from my base (about 5000 blocks) to find white foxes. Get them on lead. Travel more than half way back to base, game crashes. When I turn the game back on, the foxes I had on lead are gone, as are my leads. Has tapped every time I try to get white foxes. (4 times)

I had a similar problem with bees. Put them on a lead, but when the game crashes, the bees and lead both disappear.
