Elytra deactivates when hitting a wall

While flying with the elytra now you take damage when you hit a wall (which is ok) but you immediately fall and hit the ground (or the void in the end) the elytra deactivates when you hit a wall 

How to reproduce: fly in the air and hit a block that is above the ground you will immediately begin to fall

Why this is an issue: in java edition this doesn't happen and you may die and lose all your stuff including the elytra

Same thing for me but while on bedrock 1.14.1 nintendo switch and while using a lvl 3 firework <non-gunpowder> i slam at terminal volicity smack into an invisible wall and fall straight through water to the seabed and die or waste my totem of undying... so very erritating...
