HUD gone (making me sad)

My HUD (Hotbar, controls, and chat and pause buttons) are gone. Everything except the controls completely disappear, and the controls just become invisible, then the game freezes. Not the whole device, just the camera and the movement. Mobs are also invisible. I know it is a glitch because the terrain and world get all weird (spontaneous chunk disappearances) This only affects a realm I have with friends.
