Villagers won’t claim their beds and won’t change professions

So I’ve made a mini village of my own to start farming some of the villager trades, I was able to get 8 villagers to do as told like make them sleep in certain beds and have certain professions and now all 8 beds are taken and so are the work benches for those 8 so whatever villager is born then it should take the new bed and new work bench given right? Well it didn’t it actually ignored everything and didn’t wanna change profession or go to bed or change beds I’ve tried everything to fix this like update the bed and update the work bench and I even went to make more beds but still the villagers didn’t do anything and even after getting rid of them and getting new ones they did the same thing so I don’t know what to do. I don’t normally report anything but this time I actually had to.
