In Javas Nether snap shot XP won't get absorbed into already fully fixed gear with mending on it but in the bedrock beta version if your mending gear is fully fix the XP still gets absorbed by it.

How do you know that the XP is absorbed by the fully fixed gear? Are you sure it is not simply going to your XP total? Please provide a video or details for how to reproduce.

If your in the bedrock beta and wear a fully fixed set of mending armor and give yourself a broken mending diamond pickaxe then throw one stack of bottle o' enchanting at your feet it won't fix the tool cause your armor will absorb the XP. If your in the Java snapshot and wear a fully fixed set of mending armor and give yourself a broken mending diamond pickaxe then throw one stack of bottle o' enchanting at your feet it will fix the tool cause XP. only goes to broken items or to your level up bar.
Remove your mending armor, and the mending tool you are holding will get the xp until it is fully healed. Windows 10 PC Bedrock v.1.16.0.55.
I don't think any of you understand the problem at all. The Java edition Nether snap shot has a new XP. Functionality where the XP. you collect will only be absorbed into mending gear that is broken. Once the gear is fixed XP. Will no longer be absorbed by it. Hence not wasting XP. Your collecting. But on bedrocks beta the feature isn't working and Mojang said that both versions would be getting to same features. And this feature is very important cause it super annoying always have to take off all of your mending gear just to fix it.
