Bug/glitch when placing water on slab

Basically, when I try to place a water source on top of a half slab, the water gets placed inside of the slab. It doesn't matter what type of slab it is or if it's a top/bottom slab. Placing water on both will be glitched. It becomes a bit of a hassle when building high platforms & wears my armor down especially if I don't catch myself with the elytra.
